66 Days to Create a Writing Habit: Week Three

I am back with my progress for week three! I’ve gotta say, I don’t think this is helping me create a writing habit so far, but hey we’re not even halfway through yet. Maybe I’m being too cynical. You’ll notice my definition of a week is wonky. I would say YOLO except I’m pretty sure that’s not cool to say anymore.

If you have no idea what the heck I’m babbling about, check out 66 Days to Create a Writing Habit, where I talk about this little experiment of mine and invite you to join in with me!

Day 19 – 285 words

Tried my best, but I’m so close to the end of this scene, I can taste it.

Day 20 – 0 words

I hate technology. Scrivener keeps freezing, so I tried syncing it with Google Drive so I could write in a doc but I can’t run the installer no matter what I do. I give up. I’m tired and cranky and want to sleep.

Day 21 – 596 words

FINALLY! Finished this scene that should have been done over a week ago. Of course the characters ended up doing the exact opposite of what I wanted them to do.

Day 22 – 583 words

Fresh scene! The Queen of Hell is back, baby!

Day 23 – 119 words

Swamped with other work stuff today so not much, but I’m always hapy to get a paragraph or two down.

Day 24 – 179 words

Crap day for writing. Just one of those days where you can’t focus on any one thing for longer than five minutes. Also “cheated” a bit and edited the curent scene. I thought a piece of dialogue worked better later in the scene so I did some copy/pasting and minor rewriting to make it fit. It only took a minute and I like the results. I’ll allow it.

Day 25 – 0 words

Day 26 – 0 words

Day 27 – 0 words

… You could say I’ve fallen off the wagon.

Day 28 – 1,000+ words (lost count)

Does this make up for the last three days? Eh. Debatable.

Day 29 – 0 words

Nope

Day 30 – 1,016 words

Well, this is getting sporadic, isn’t it?

Day 31 – 1,054 words

A pretty good day! The plot train’s finally starting to leave the station. At almost 50,000 words. Good grief, I’m not looking forward to hacking away at this with a chainsaw when I edit.

Grand Total: 4,832 words

Did you fare better than I did this week? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to use the hashtag #66dayswrite on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook if you’re sharing your progress on social media!
